Hooria is the Principal Dentist at Olsen’s Dental Practice and has over 30 years of experience. She graduated from Cardiff Dental School in 1993 and worked in hospital dentistry as an Oral Surgeon for a few years before moving into general dental practice. She started Olsen’s Dental Practice in July 2005.
She is especially passionate about Orthodontic Treatments (Braces) and is a Fixed Orthodontics Clinical Trainer and Mentor for the IAS Academy in the UK for Fixed Braces.
Always keen to learn and progress, she has also completed courses in Implant Dentistry, Cosmetic/Restorative Dentistry and Invisalign® Braces. She completed her further training in Straumann® Implant Dentistry in 2013. She acquired her Certificate in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry (Sept 2008) and has been certified to provide Invisalign (Clear Braces) since 2009. Hooria is particularly sensitive with nervous patients and children.
She has been a member of the British Dental Association (BDA) for many years and is also Board member and Joint chair of the Educational Committee of the British Association of Private Dentistry.
When not practising dentistry, she spends her time playing in a local rock band, reading books and spending time with her teenage children, husband, friends and family.
Mr. Stuart Gray, an accomplished Dental Therapist, joined Olsen's Dental Practice in February 2024.
He earned his BSc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy (awarded with Distinction in Clinical Dental Hygiene) from the esteemed University of Birmingham in 2012. With a distinguished 12-year career in both NHS and private practice, Mr. Gray has an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional oral care.
In his capacity as a Dental Therapist, Mr. Gray will closely collaborate with Dr. Olsen and the Olsen's Dental Practice team, delivering comprehensive oral health services. His broad responsibilities include a variety of procedures like scaling and polishing, along with restorative treatments such as fillings, composite bonding, and composite veneers. Demonstrating a keen passion for staying at the forefront of dental advancements, Mr. Gray is proficient in implementing the latest techniques. This includes his expertise in Guided Biofilm Therapy/Airflow treatment, particularly beneficial for addressing advanced gum disease and for effective stain removal.
Mr. Gray is particularly attuned to addressing the needs of patients with dental anxiety or additional care requirements. He derives great satisfaction from restoring confidence in dentistry, successfully assisting numerous patients in overcoming past negative experiences and fostering long-term loyalty through trust-building.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Mr. Gray places a high value on personal wellness through regular exercise, predominantly favouring gym workouts. In his leisure time, he enjoys the delightful companionship of his two miniature dachshunds, who hold a cherished place in his life, and who he talks a lot about...
Darren graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and Therapy in 2019. Since then, he has been working in the field for four years now, expanding his knowledge, educating, and motivating his patients through holistic care and working alongside dentists treating periodontal diseases of all forms.
In his spare time Darren enjoys keeping fit and healthy by playing football and going to the gym. As well as this he likes to spend time with his friends and family.
Joanna is our receptionist. She has 7 years experience in customer service. She is highly professional and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with people.
Outside of work, Joanna enjoys travelling, dancing, swimming and bowling.
